About Our Founder
Amy Wilson

A lifetime passion for great food and cooking combined with a drive to travel and experience other lifestyles and cultures led me to launch Destination Gourmet, a unique gastronomic and cultural adventure.

Following twenty years of traveling the world, living and working abroad as a US Diplomat across four continents, I decided to settled down in London with my English husband to start a new, and rather British, life. While I loved working and immersing myself in other cultures, I decided that it was time to start another chapter and share my lifelong love of food and travel with others, So I attended Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School, became certified in Gastronomic Tourism,. and launched Destination Gourmet.

We are a boutique lifestyle and gastronomic tourism company dedicated to focusing on small group tours offering cultural and cooking experiences in off the beaten path London and beyond. Our tours offer a glimpse into often unexplored areas and matched with  cooking courses linked to the tour.

Cooking Asian food is not normally
my thing but this smoked tofu larb
was delicious and won the Great
British Chefs' Cookbook Club competition last summer.

I am a huge fan of curd, lemon, passionfruit, coffee, anything!  That is why I was so happy when the Great British Chefs gave this raspberry curd and white chocolate tart a runner-up award last year.

My incredibly simple Lavender
Shortbread recipe was recognized last year
on "the social network for food" app FOODIM
which was great.  What was even better was
when Nigella Lawson
posted the win on her
Instagram page and called it a beautiful
photograph.

Bread and butter!  Simple right?  Not in this case.  I just adore this sourdough challah I made with whole grain spelt flour and four kinds of butter, garlic and herb, marmite, smoked black pepper and lemon, and maple and cinnamon. It didn't win anything but my love and a spot as runner-up with The Great British Chefs.
